Hopefully this will be a cleaner set of directions on how to use your chess engines with the Chess Assistant Club Interface. 1st: Open the C:\Program Files\ChessPlanet\EngOpt.ini file with any Text Editor. 2nd: Locate the Program List Section. It should look like sample below: [Programslist] Count=2 ChessProgram1=Delfi||10|30000||2|0 ChessProgram2=Dragon||9|30000||2|0 To add your chess engines you need to understand some of what the above means. This is what I have learned so far. Please note that the chess engines Delfi & Dragon are built in engines. This is why these will be the only engines without a path statement. You should format the statements for the chess engines you want to add like example A below: Example A: ChessProgram#=Engine_Name|Dirctory_Path\Engine_EXE |#|#####|#|# or ChessProgram#=Engine_Name|Dirctory_Path\Engine_EXE |1|22222|3|4 By now you might be wondering what to the numbers mean. So I will tell all that I know so far. Count=# (Here # is the number chess engines you want listed) ChessProgram# (Here # is for listing order. Aka= The order the engine names are listed) Now notice the four sets of numbers following the Engine_EXE The first number is for ENGINE TYPE. I have learned of 3 Engine Types and they are: 6=UCI ENGINES 7=WINBOARD ENGINES 8=CRAFTY ENGINES The second set of numbers I have no clue as to what it means. The third set of numbers is for HASHTABLE size in Megabytes. The fouth set of numbers I also have no clue as to what it means at this time. The is what the edited section might look like: [Programslist] Count=8 ChessProgram1=Smarthink|C:\Smarthink\Smarthink.exe|7|30000||8|0 ChessProgram2=Fruit|C:\fruit_21\Fruit_21.exe|6|30000||8|0 ChessProgram3=Crafty|C:\Crafty SSE\crafty1919sse2.exe|8|30000||8|0 ChessProgram4=Shredder|C:\ShredderChess\EngineShredder9UCI.exe|6|30000||8|0 ChessProgram5=Delfi||10|30000||2|0 ChessProgram6=Dragon||9|30000||8|0 I hope some might find this information useful. So far I have got every UCI or Winboard chess engine that I use to work.
