The Saitek Mephisto Chess Challenger has an advertised ELO Rating of 1960 (or 170 BCF). Can anyone tell me how the chess computer got this rating? Did it play other chess computers or various USCF players to achieve its rating? Also, what level has this rating of 1960 (ELO)? Is it one of the tournament levels or blitz levels? I have the instruction manual, but there is no information on how the game got its rating. Its estimated USCF Rating is 2100. I want to play the computer at this strength (1960 ELO - 2100 USCF), but I need to know which level has this rating. Is it C1 - C8 (one of the tournament levels) or is it D1 - D8 (one of the blitz levels)? Does anyone have any information about this?
