Kriegspiel, definitely.  Things get a whole lot more difficult
when you cannot see your opponent's pieces....

For a start, all of the common chess (or games in general)
programming techniques are marginally useful at best.  And
even mediocre humans will very quickly find any weakness in
the program's play or openings.
