An example to the SP-518 (traditional starting array)
(one produced by SMIRF, one by SHREDDER):
[Event "SMIRF Testsgame"]
[Site "ChessBox"]
[Date "2005.07.15"]
[Round "1"]
[White "W"]
[Black "B"]
[Result "*"]
[SetUp "1"]
[FEN "rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KkQq -"]
1. e4 c5 2. Bc4 Nf6
*
[Event "Shredder Testgame"]
[Site "ChessBox"]
[Date "2005.07.15"]
[Round "1"]
[White "W"]
[Black "B"]
[Result "*"]
[SetUp "1"]
[FEN "rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w HAha -"]
1. e4 {0s} c5 {Buch 0s} 2. Bc4 {25s (Sf3)} Nf6 {-0.36/9 3s}

What should be a serious reason here for such differences within the FENs?
The compatible notation used by SMIRF (among other engines) of the started
test game is very satisfied without any usage of a (really absolutely
unnecessary) PGN tag [Variant="Chess960"].
But Shredder not only is incompatible to the traditional chess notation (despite
Chess960 is an absolutely compatible superset to traditional chess) it overmore
produces a PGN here incompatible to any tradition.
Reinhard.
