Thanks for your help, Eelco. When u change engines in Chessbase you are always
left with the opening book from the previous engine if u dont change it. But u
can set it so the program wont pick up one of the books, therefore Pro Deo
shpuld be using its own. Thanks for the help. If u see this message, there is
one other problem with Pro Deo i cant figure out. I know how to go in and change
the hash settings by changing the value for the "w". But he says in his
instructions if u want to check your configurations, open the file PARAM.TXT and
make sure the engine is configured the way u want it. Most of the info in that
file i dont really understand, but it does say the initial hash table size is
100mb. And it says the current hash table size is 100 mb. Im assuming the
initial size represents the default size. But the problem is with the one that
says CURRENT HASH TABLE SIZE. It stays on 100 mb no matter what u change the
hash to putting a diff. no. out by the "w". IM just wondering if u are supposed
to ignore that, or if it is supposed to change when u change the hash size.
Because if the current hash size is suppsosed to change in this file as u change
the hash in the other file i am doing something wrong. thanks, George
