Thanks for your reply, Kurt. AFter reading what u said, i realized what i was doing wrong. Everything is working fine, now. Appreciate ur help very much. U probably have forgotten more about all this than ill ever know, but im pretty good working with the ins and outs of all the chessbase engines. As pro deo comes with its built in opening book and u have to run SOME book with a chessbase engine , i just put pro deo.ctg in the opening books file and use it with pro deo. Seems to work fine. ONe thing that might be of interest to u is i found out from one of the chessbase experts that the built in programs like crafty,etc. that dont have an opening book, be sure to use the fritz 8 ctg with them. It is more universal. Dont use shredder's or hiarcs opening books with those other programs. Makes them weaker because shredder and hiarcs books are fine tuned for their programs only. the only exception being use hiarcs9 opening book with hiarcs 8.
