We are all critics when it comes to man vs machine and the strength of computer programs, we sit here on the board and guess (sometimes educated guesses) on who will win. Now that Shredder has started chess960 which I think is wonderful, people are still 'unsure' if it will beat Peter Svindler (I hope I spelled that right) Judging from PC programs performances vs humans in REGULAR chess which humans have been studying for decades the programs are killing them. If you took an average of wins/draws/losses vs up to date programs at classical time controls there isn't a really good chance peter will win at all. I am just curious, does anyone truely feel Peter can draw/win vs Shredder in a 6 or 8 game match? He might be the world champion, but so was kasparov who drawed twice in classical chess and he had an army working for him. Maybe I am bias, I'm just judging from all the previous games vs programs and the fact that they are getting better. Chrilly said it best when he said and I quote to the best of my abilities "Humans are improving like us everyday, but how long can they improve?"
