Subject: OT: Mac OSX question

Someone tells me they have a problem with tranferring files between Macs.  I
don't know how to use OSX, so help would be appreciated.

When sending files using the drop box, apparently by default the permissions are
set to read-only for other users.  Can this be changed easily?  I'm being told
we have to go and actually modify the operating system to defeat that "feature."
