What you really want is the Unix/OpenBSD/Linux command "rsync". On a Mac, fire up the Terminal application. (If moving files from Linux, fire up a terminal emulation window.) Type: rsync -e ssh -auv FilesToBeMovedToOtherMachine OtherMachineName:TargetDirectoryName For more information on the too many options of rsync, type: man rsync
