Very little to gain, and a lot to lose at stake. I am sure that GM Blatny knew one hundred thousand eyeballs were boring into his back as he was playing. It seems to me that his actions were very courageous. Especially, when you are playing against a computer, you cannot make any tiny mistakes. Computers may not be able to play strategically, but you have to form the strategic position first. And if you fail to see a freakish skewer 7 fullmoves away, you could be toast. So, how soon until we see the commercial version of Ferret? Sure would be nice if it had a Winboard interface [hint, hint].
