I really think we should treat new members with kid gloves >at first. I've seen newbies treated poorly on more than one occasion and it's no >way to encourage increased membership. its funny really this type of treatment to newbies interested in PC chess programs does not extend to other types of newbies here when ever a newbie stumbles in interested in dedicated chess computers i think they are welcomed with open arms many go on to increase their interest in the dedicated units and indeed have started collecting them and some have even started their own web sites highlighting their collections so i agree 100% that to welcome newbies rather then to "cop an attitude" with them will only increase membership here but interest in computer chess as a whole of course my goal is to DECREASE interest in PC chess and INCREASE interest in the old beauties :)) Bi Polar Regards Steve
