For example, when you basically have the advantage but the opponent achieves a tricky 50 move draw, it is NOT correct when the program "declares" a draw. It should leave the deceision to the players, if they want to claim or not. Maybe your opponent hasn't counted the moves. Maybe you can still win when he misses the draw claim. Why should the program have the power to declare this drawn? It is like a wooden chessboard would suddenly speak and say "Hey, 50 moves...!" This should be improved. 3rd repetion and 50 moves are only draws by claim, but don't have to be claimed. The players should decide this. I can image that the GUI INFORMS the user about a such a situation (as an option), but it cannot claim things only a player has the right to claim. Programmers usually ignore this. :( Steve
