Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty happy with SCID just the way it is too. It is actually that site, newscid.sourceforge.net, where I am unable to login. I didn't understand the need to rewrite the gui in java either. I don't know what QT is. I am running version 3.6.1 but there is a bug with the ECO screen where the following appears: invalid command name "::utils::graph::Xunmap" Do your fixes correct this and if so are they available?
