Chess programs never ever claimed 50 moves rule after ply 100 _with_ a pawn move or a hitting move. This loses of course in any tourney according to the rules. I guess you mixed things up with all other moves except pawn moves and hitting moves? Only buggy programs do this. Saying this, the 100ply mate bug is not that uncommon in a lot of programs, it just happens rarely;) Guenther
