The Excalibur Grandmaster is about 200elo weaker than your last choice (Saitek Challenger) but has a much bigger playing surface and a nice and varied opening book. As Steve has mentioned the Grandmaster is a bit pernickety about which piece you pick up first when taking a piece. However if you have never had any other auto sensory board then this should be easy to learn. The one thing which I really disliked about this machine is that there is no way known to man that the damn beeping can be turned off. Beeping regards Clive
