Because... I originally was just wanting to *read* the messages. I didn't intend to do any posting. Since TalkChess.com wont let you even do that without signing up, I just used that address. (I know it's stupid... They wont even let you read them without signing up first.) It satisfied the registration process. It's just habit, I guess. On the web these days, with so many sites requiring registrion for no good reason, and no telling what they'll actually do with the info, I just got into the habit of giving as little personal information as possible. And since I only planned to read, and not post, it was 'good enough'. [shrug] (Yes, I do know you can search the messages, but that's not quite the same as actually reading them in normal manner.)
