I bought a Star Sapphire on eBay and it's plenty strong - they didn't lie about
that. There's no relaible proof that it's the strongest. However, it's not as
user freindly as I had hoped and battery life is poor. The SSDF list it only 16
ELO points stronger than the Sapphire II, which in my book suggests they're
about the same in strength.

However, I think I'll eventually take advice given here and get a handheld
running Palm OS or Windows CE and install one of the better programs avaiable
for these devices. Dedicated chess computers are really not serious "tools" any
more. They are simply neat toys that some of us enjoy and/or collect (IMHO).
