One last footnote.
Per the FAQ on Tim Mann's website I read the following:
If you have this problem, you can fix it by deleting parser.c and letting the
Makefile re-create it from parser.l. This will work if you have either lex or
flex on your system.
***** However This Did Not Fix The Problem Either *******

PS: I did install Flex to try to solve this.
