a tabletop without using pieces. The playing surface would >display the pieces (probably about 1" x 1" each) in black and white. Would anyone be interested in a larger version with a >display?? hi Ray man would i love to see that a tabletop with large lcd pieces the only thing close to that was a computer released way back in 1981 called the Novag Savant it used a touch screen to move the pieces but had a very high defect rate and today no known Savant exists in perfect working condition there were tabletops released that had a combination of a pressure sensory board and a small LCD screen to show the pieces but this is different than just having LCD pieces would be much larger in size i would not even mind a touch screen with pen activation like seen in many PDA's i think it would be a big seller for those interested in dedicated chess computers Best Steve
