Besides, the original book is my fault too.
;-)

Besides the one that comes with it, this:
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new-approach/fruit_books.zip

Which contains these:
07/09/2005 01:59 AM 47,383 book_microscopic.bin.bz2
07/09/2005 01:59 AM 260,071 book_small.bin.bz2
07/09/2005 01:58 AM 1,011,173 book_medium.bin.bz2
07/09/2005 01:58 AM 3,792,694 book_large.bin.bz2

Which expand into these:
08/02/2005 11:39 AM 72,672 book_microscopic.bin
08/02/2005 11:39 AM 409,952 book_small.bin
08/02/2005 11:39 AM 1,544,096 book_medium.bin
08/02/2005 11:39 AM 6,368,352 book_large.bin

The book is chosen by the name book_small.bin, so you would need to rename the
book to use to be that name.

I have no idea whatsoever which book is best among these, and (further) whether
or not someone else's book is better or not.

I expect that Sarah's results for Fruit are not as good for Fruit because she
plays in the native interface for the engines while many of the other tests will
be using UCI or Winboard which will stunt the native engines' performance.

Just hazarding a guess.

A professionally built book will surely be superior to the autogenerated books
that I build. My stuff is for the poor souls who can't afford a real one.
