Just in case anyone is the slightest bit interested in the letter that Mr Byrne
removed, I have redrafted it below. I hope that it is now satisfactory to Mr
Byrne.
Hi George,
I am writing to help you because you seem to be the pseudonym of a wonderful
man.
Unfortunately he does not seem to be very good at hiding his own identity and so
a little help from one of his admirers may be appreciated.
Do you remember the pseudonym ”thatsit”? Many people realise that if you use
both a pseudonym and your real name in the same letter, you must not use the
same pseudonym in the email address of your troll. This is a fact that you seem
to have overlooked. I do hope that you do not mind me pointing it out to you.
Madhavan also asked me “what's your business here”. Well the answer to that is
that computer chess programs have been an interest of mine for many years.
Consequently I have been reading this group from a date before Swami arrived on
the scene. You do remember Swami don't you George? Currently my main interest is
how design considerations taken at the initial stages of the development of an
engine affect the final strength.
Finally, let me apologise for calling you Gerhard in my last email, I can't
imagine what I was thinking about when I made that mistake!
