Go up one level in this thread

It is with much trepidation that I write this. :-)

I was driving one of my BMW's across the US at 90 mph when this auction closed.
I had used one of the automated bidding sites to place the minimum bid that the
seller would accept, before I left, and was astonished to find that I had
actually won the item. I wasn't even going to check the results, until I
returned on Aug. 8th, as my brother lives in the remote countryside and I am
only able to use a computer on a 28k modem. However, I was curious, and was
shocked to see that my absentee bid was the only one.

I had decided that, even though I agree that the seller deserved to have the
item close with no bids, he would still end up selling it somewhere to someone,
and that someone might as well be me, if I could get it at a good price. What I
really wanted was the box, as this now gives me two complete CC1 sets, and also
I suspect that the board might be in better condition than either of my other
ones.

Even I have mixed feelings at winning this auction, but I will probably get over
it soon. :-)

Hiding in the Woods Regards,
