Hello Roy,

Running Pro Deo under Linux, that's a new one! Is it stable?

Been working on several settings for Pro Deo 1.1 that eventually I would like to
see result in something like a Gambit Pro Deo version in playing style but not
at the cost of strength.

For longer analysis and especially midgame positions, of the Vulcan settings I
would at the moment take the Vulcan {9k9n4} settings.
Maybe also for overnight analysis but to be honest the branching factor of these
settings or of Pro Deo default is not quite as good as that of programs like
Fruit and Shredder. I have not studied much at how the settings hold themselves
in endgames.

For computer-computer games at not too long controls, maybe some other settings
could give a little bit better results, and [Adjusted Selectivity] seems less
critical IMO.

Especially for this post I made the Pro Deo 1.1 Vulcan {9k10j} It has as the
latest change in settings
[Pruning = MISC_58]		* Recalculate passed pawns
[M58_Table = midg]		* normal|strong|midg|endg
I don't know if this works well with setting [Passed Pawns = 100], if it doesn't
maybe the other pawn settings do not harmonize anymore. Throw this out and you
have Vulcan {9k10i}

[Futility = 100]                * Futility Pruning
is I believe ignored by Pro Deo 1.1 but hopefully Ed will include it in Pro Deo
1.2. It was present in Pro Deo Leiden.

[Pruning = MISC_76]             * Rook 7th rank (new style)
[Rook 7th Rank (low) = 60]	* default = 50 in Pro Deo Leiden
is in test
