Thank you both for your comments .The post that I submitted and that was removed
was about 7 days ago. It did not “fall off the radar “ because within 4 hours of
it being submitted, Madhaven wrote an objection and both my letter and the
objection were removed.
I admit however that the original post did have a “flavour”. I find this troll
particularly objectionable because he targets well meaning and valuable
contributors and wastes their time.
The consequence may be that they are less welcoming to newcomers in the future .
I felt that my original post was close to the mark but just about fell on the
right side of the line. Someone at your end obviously disagreed.
I feel slightly responsible for Wael Deeb being suspended. He is a man like me,
he has a short fuse. When I saw that he was getting angry, I emailed him offline
giving him evidence of who the troll was. I like to know who I am dealing with
and I assumed he would as well. In my defence I also advised him to be careful
what he said on CCC..
Obviously, I cannot comment on why Wael was suspended because I haven't seen the
emails. I guess that he was not in a positive frame of mind due to preceding
events and that this may have had an effect.
Wael is a genuine enthusiast for computer chess. He has contributed much to this
group and he will be a loss if he chooses not to return. My guess is that he
will not come back. Another achievement for the troll.
