Eduard, it is SMK, who I blame for his imcompatible approach introducing Shredder "FEN" for FRC. I am convinced that SMK is a highly intelligent person. Thus the created problems hardly could be related to maybe "stupid" people. Incompatibility is a property which could be objectified by neutral people, simply checking, whether already existing Chess960 aware applications like game databases, PGN viewers, online servers, chess engines and GUIs and other tools will work with that well or will have problems now. Simply the fact, that it is possible to differently encode identical positions (and thus PGN file entries) thereby creating unwanted doubles in databases is hardly to be tolerated. The problems are not related to the well working X-FEN (see http://www.chessbox.de/xfen_e.html), but to SMK's uncoordinated approach to Chess960. Reinhard.
