Yes, XBoard + PolyGlot does the trick, just like for all other Linux UCI
engines.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  PolyGlot is a Unix program.  The
only reason it is possible to use it in Windows at all is the existence of
the Cygwin toolkit, which offers a sort of Unix running on top of Windows.

Just compile and install XBoard, PolyGlot and Fruit, and everything should work
fine.
