It is not enough for knights to cover each other - such a defence strategy (for example Nc3+ Ne4) loses easily through zugzwang. Knights have to create dynamic defence quarding squares around (and not each other) and the constellation has to be changed after different tries of K+Q to break it. That's why the position is very difficult for human analyses and the full truth gives only computer. Emil
