S stands for SIXTEEN BITS and means that the board can take the 16 Bit modules such as Glasgow (nitsche and henne software) and later Amsterdam (Richard Lang). as far as i remember the hardware of Glasgow and Amsterdam was not different, the eprom content was reprogrammed for the customers. looks like the Mephisto III S program that won glasgow championship.
