Ys it is dual core, and yes it should be able to run ponder-on matches the same
as a dual processor machine. But see Robert Hyatt's comments further down. But
being based on 2 prescott cores, these run quite hot, and depending on your
climate may be hard to keep cool under continuous 100% load. Look at  AMD64
X2-3800 as an alternative
