I have been testing Fruit 2.1 against Shredder 7.04 and Shredder 9.1 UCI and Fritz 7. I have found out that Shredder 9.1 is by far the most superior with Fruit 2.1 coming in second with Shredder 7.04 very close at its heels. What I found interesting is that Fruit 2.1 is very sensitive to the book that it uses. In one tournament it actually beat Shredder 9.1 when using the Fritz in Bahrain Book. I think a good book is needed for Fruit 2.1 to weed out the book losses. Also lack of TB support is very critical. Fruit 2.1 was unable to win a RP vs Q endgame.
