Zappa apparently is both WB and UCI. But, after installing Zappa as UCI in Chessbase, I started an engine match with the option "no book" for Zappa and it is obviously using its own opening book. Remember that "no book" doesn't mean that the engine plays without an opening book, it only means that the GUI doesn't tell the engine how to play the opening. If a Winboard (or UCI) engine has an own opening book, it uses it. No necessity to create a void opening book in CB format. Telmo
