Hi Dom, Thanks for testing that! I hope Ed doesn't get mad that I've let out some of Pro Deo's "Easter Eggs" as it were. It is not even Easter! And a pagan ritual too, searching Easter eggs I believe. I'm not sure Ed would approve.. Have you used the 20 CSS test opening positions? >SeE-Positions > >It uses around the same hardware as your computer at 10mins+10secs. >Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (2090 Mhz) > >Perhaps u can use that for your testing before using long time controls for your >new settings. No, I didn't know of those Dom. Been hanging out on German CSS forum http://www.f23.parsimony.net/forum50826/ trying some of Michael Gurevich difficult testpositions there with Pro Deo Vulcan. By the way, one of these positions I ran for over 32 hours and no crashes, so at least we now know that there is no limit of 24 hours, as I suggested once before. I though I should report! At least no crashes with the personality I was testing. P.S. My vote for the post of the week goes to Bruce Moreland: http://www.talkchess.com/forums/2/message.html?178623 I thought some of the programmers here might appreciate the binary humor:) Eelco
