The move is totally sound against chess tiger15 as the game proved.

Lasker already said that you should not play the best move but the move that is
more unconvenient to your opponent.

Even if g4 is objectively bad(I did not analyze it to have an opinion) then it
was still a good idea to play it against tiger15 and maybe the program that
played with white used special anti-tiger setting(I do not know which program
played against tiger15).
