Hi Joshua, At that price range you will not find any dedicated chess computers with a serial port. The only one I know which is still on market is this model. http://www.chessusa.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?page=8/82-N14.html&item=82-N14 altho I dont think the port on those can be used for xboard. I think it can be used to display the move list on a computer screen and print it. And perheps also can display the evaluations. With the serial connection on my Renaissance I can issue some commands from my PC keyboard like new game, take back, set level and so on. but these are mostly useless futures. You might be better of buying a Palm Zire21 unit. there are quite a few strong programs for it, which you can use save and load pgn games from your PC. I think a Zire21 plus Hiarcs for palm will cost you around 100 dollars US and will give you a 2500 elo unit. Only problem with PDA's are short battery life but most work with a power adapter. I am sure Steve also will advise you since he might know other options. good luck Murat ...
