I have read the email, but I am not a native English speaker. I know that
Djordje is far more familar with English than I am. So it is very well possible
that I did not get a nuance of the message but Djordje did.
IMO, the mail was a very unfortunate mixture about off-topic posts, the
engagement of the USA in serbia, and a - may be somewhat harsh - request for the
source code of the voyager program.
If I were the receiver, I would not have been happy about this mail, but I think
I would not have be hurted that much. On the other hand, one must assume that
Djordje, as a Serb, is very deeply concerned about the current political
situation. So I can imagine that his feelings had been hurt by treating this
topic on the same level (in the same mail) as computer chess.
I sincerely regret Djordje's withdrawel. Will has at least tried to apologize. I
hope that Djordje will reconsider.
