Luck has a lot to do, but one thing is for sure that Commercial are not too far
away from the Freebies. Specially when a good Opening book is not involves which
gives Shredder around an additional 50 rating points more than the freewares
which don't have a special built Book.

PS: The result would have been much different if two games round robin against
each program was played instead.
