For years we have been asking for an automated event, where the computers all communicate via a LAN at the playing site, to eliminate operator errors, operator time loss differences, operator interference, etc. Then the games could be broadcast live, and the results would be available in real-time. Apparently this is too difficult for the ICGA to grasp, even though setting up a local FICS server is a trivial task...
