The socket 939 has more future perspective, means you could exchange the CPU if
you desire in the future more easily w/o changing the motherboard while socket
754 will be abandoned by AMD to my knowledge.
On the other hand, you can always buy a new motherboard in the future for 100
bucks compatible to socket 939. Im not sure about the advantage of 939 right
now, except heat and energy consumption which favorites the newer 939 chips. You
normally get better deals for socket 754 systems because they are older.
