for them THIS IS professional work !
it was never different .
the most important rule is: that the TD has absolute power.
and decides whatever he wants.
all other things are not much important...

thats the special charme of the ICCA/ICGA championships.
its a kind of cuban car, old - still working, and you can trust it will be there
next year the same way !

i guess you would have to exchange the board of the icga completely.
this would be kind of revolution !!
one reason the events decrease concerning organisation is, that the "right"
people cannot make their usual deals anymore they did in the 80ties and 90ties.
as long as it was good to exploit the idea of these championships to make
business out of it, they were good for the salesmen to make their deals.
but since computerchess isn't anymore interesting for making money,
the organisation decreases year by year.
of course THE WORLD is not interested in this event if it gets presented THIS
way.
The world is not able to even find a web site where the event is shown :-))
Only with special freak information you know that your program won ...
or whatever is going on.

I hope that it will NOT die. but that the people in charge ("giving their best")
for the strange lack of information do retire one day so that the events
can de done in a more suitable way.

resigning means giving away the power to somebody else. can they stand this.
:-))
we will see.
on the other hand you have to see that each year the participants and
the freaks arround give really their best to FILL the lack of information
and to help each other in the crisis. this is IMO ONE good side-affect of
these ICGA/ICCA events, that they show us what COULD be possible if it
would be done planned and organised like it should.
