Was a pure dog. I've not tested anything in the past 60 days however, so I can't say whether they have dumped that kludge and done it right or not... I believe the first version took a 64 bit operation, and turned it into micro-ops that split it across the 32 bit pipes. 64 bit applications would die as you now operate on twice as much data, but with 1/2 the instruction-level parallelism. No good... all it was good for was to provide a good test bed for a real 64 bit architecture...
