I was a member of the Manhattan CC for 7 years. Those guys tried to get rid of me for reasons that would take far too long too go into here. Many of my 'Buddys' from the Manhattan are still there, and are still my 'Buddys', if you know what I mean! So the Marshall is again my Club of choice, which I re-joined immeidiately upon my return from Seattle. I have played 6 rated games so far. (My very first rated game there was against GM Alex Sherzer!, which of course I lost), which is already 4 more than I played in the last 2 years of my life with my Love Holly in Seattle. I report to her every week. Mostly, I enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the Marshall CC, and just 'hanging out' with my many friend here, many of whome are also former members of the Manhattan, who are now at the Marshall!? Hope that's not confusing. The Marshall is for the downtrodden chessplayer's of the world. The Manhattan is for sponsored chess kids of the Manhattan chess in the schools program. More of a tournament location then a real chess club as I understand these things. I encourage all NY (& nearby located persons), to join, as they have a very welcoming envirement here, especially when you compare it to the snooty atitude of our friends uptown. And the cost of membership is lower too! mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict! On February 22, 1999 at 21:47:38, Ted Hogan wrote: >On February 22, 1999 at 21:17:38, Lawrence S.
