Subject: Collector's Corner..On Dedicated Chess Computer World Championships..

for the  collector ,obtaining all of the Dedicated Chess computers that won the
World Micro Computer Chess Championships is a laudable goal

indeed no collection could be considered World Class  without this goal being
acheived

perhaps the hardest year to acquire is 1984 which was held in Glasgow Scotland

that year ,first place was a four way tie between 3 dedicated computers and a PC
program

Fidelity,Conchess and Mephisto were the dedicated computer winners with an early
version of Langs Cyrus chess as the PC program
Langs program then went on to be incorporated into several dedicated units after
its co-win

of the four co-winners the hardest computer to find is the Mephisto.
called the Glasgow "S" module, it of course can be used in all of their standard
boards(Modular,Exclusive and Munchen)

rated 1800 Elo and programmed by Nitsche it ran on a 68000 16 bit processor at
12 Mhz
