I love chessmaster 6000 and it is not my worry to see if it's stronger than this
or that program. I have some good commercial programs and all of them play
reasonable chess. What I admire most about chessmaster is it's availability and
its strength. It is "very" strong especially in shorter time controls. If it's
any stronger or weaker than fritz, hiarcs, mcp8 or rebel or any other commercial
program......i really don't care! The best way to deal with this, as what I do,
is to have all of them. It's like having a boxing stable. Any good boxing
trainer will tell you that it is important to spar and train against as many
styles possible. I compare chess to boxing because both of them are brutal
although the other differs from the other in the way it exacts its toll on the
athlete. I might be mistaken, but to my know how....and being a former boxing
trainer...I think we have a reasonable correlation between both sports.
