i have the brikett,
the modular with III B module.

In the moment i am trying out the differences between software version
A and B.

you can differenciate the 2 software versions by the openings they answer
on 1.e4. the A module plays only e5 and c5 and needs arround 3" to play out the
move.

the module B plays the move in almost 1" and plays on 1.e4 also d5 and e6.
it has a bigger variety in openings.

the question is: which version is stronger.
i once had a special tuned version of mephisto III S.

it was a module running on 22-24 mhz and had an CMOS-68000 CPU
and the eproms were modified so it had richard langs ROMA16bit into it
and also Mephisto IIIS. you had a switch and you were able to switch the
versions like it was possible in the fidelity premiere.

it was a pity that i sold all those dedicated chess computers. and it was a sin
to sell this module !!
yes. i am a fan of this module because it makes so few NPS and is capable to
make so much playing strength from so less nodes. IMO an A.I. program !
