Hi Jorge, in my opignon there is no "proper way" to make a tournament. We do know that you need a large amount of games, to judge the playing strenght of an engine. Even with 1000 games there is an Error of about +/- 20 Elo in the raiting. In a tournament of 7, 9 or 11 games it is never sure that the best engine will win the tournament if there are enough engines with acceptable strength compared to the best engine. There are good rating lists with 1000 or more games per engines where you can easily find out which engine is currently the strongest. In any list that I know Shredder has the first position. If this is enough to win any tournament then why make one? Greetings Volker
