I never did consider myself a collector but I did buy almost all the chess
computers I could find on retail market starting 1979. The reasons behind this
were my fascination for playing chess against a computer.
Why did I buy so many? Because I was regularly beating them, and frankly wanted
a computer, that would beat me. My winnings continued all the way to the
Fidelities 2100 series. This was a lot of wasted money for a non collector since
I gave all of my old computers away for free upon buying a new one.

Finally Fidelity Excel Mach III turned it around. A computer I could not beat.
It was perfect for my strength and I know it will last me a life time assuming
it keeps working.

Why did I not stop buying new computers after this? The answer is I could not
resist the esthetics of newer computers.

Like:
Elite A/G 2265
Saitek Renaissance + all the modules
Risc 2500
Mephisto exclusive senator
And others in between.

This has been a long journey for me. But it needs to end soon for the sake of my
bank account. And if that day ever comes, I will be running naked in the street
yelling “FREE AT LAST”

I am not a collector regards
