Uri, You could be in some trouble... because of open source. Say you examined how Fruit does king safety and you find that the method is one of the best. You cannot yet find a better way to do it, ie. any other way to do king safety is worst and you cannot emulate his method (without proper authorization) and you are stuck. Fruit now has an indirect copyright over a method by publishing his code.
