I agree that it is immoral to copy some full chess program by copy and paste and later claim it is your program. The problem is that I also hate rules that are not well defined and if a programmer use the same PopCount function like Crafty to count bits inside a bitboard or equivalent code with only different names of variables there is no problem with it so it is clear that the rule is not well defined.
