Depends.  Some of the libraries physically change to work with the 2.6 kernels.
-static will include them so there are no shared libs needed, but that doesn't
mean that the linux API for 2.6 kernels will work correctly with 2.4 kernels...

If you are just talking about 2.4 kernels, -static should work.  But this is not
a 2.4 on the machine I am running on.  If you just want 2.6 compatibility, yes,
-static ought to work...

that email will work, or you can drop the crafty. to make it shorter.
