I am not sure if it has little knowledge and I suspect that it may use better search tricks than the opponents(note everybody read all the source of glaurung to learn exactly the search tricks that you use. Note that I did not look lately at Glaurung's source and I may consider to do it again in the future but I know that you criticized crafty for castling against fruit because of not having knowledge that it is not safe to castle so it seems that at least Glaurung has some important knowledge that crafty has not(we do not know exact details about the knowledge of programs that are not open source so the only good comparison can be with the best free source code programs).
